Central Vista Avenue

Most Prestigious and one of the Beat Project of LightKrafts Private Limited is for Central Vista Avenue in New Delhi, India is a 3.5 km long road connecting Rashrapati Bhavan (The Presidential Palace) and India Gate (a war memorial). Located near Raisina Hill and originally designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker during British colonial rule, it is part of the Central Visa Redevelopment Project launched in the year 2020. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated the upgrades to the Central Vista Avenue on 10 May 2021, which has since hosted the annual Republic Day celebrations and other ceremonial events.

LightKrafts Private Limited, worked with HCP Architects on the project. With the lighting design aimed to enhance the architectural and historical significance of the avenue. A series of luminaires were used along the Central Vista Avenue. Most notably L-COLUMN modular and customisable lighting columns, which utilise integrated speakers and CCTV cameras for security and public announcements.

The lighting design also incorporated dynamic effects and colour-changing features to create different moods and ambiances for different occasions and events. For example, on Republic Day, the avenue was lit up with the colours of the Indian flag.

Architectural details and pathways are lit with Column and in-ground up-lights to provide highlights and improve visibility. Whilst innovative spotlights illuminate trees and monuments along the avenue.

CVA divided in following area:

  • Rajpath: Rajpath light is the same design of old architecture with smart lighting control, Speaker, and Camera integrated.

  • Tree avenue: The lighting pole is illuminating the green leave and with smart intelligent camera integrated.

  • Canal: Blue light to illuminate the water body

  • Both side of canal: Smart pole lighting up the tree, and Pathway, Parking etc.
